Sports in Malaysia — More Than Just Entertainment
Sport in Malaysia is more than just physical activity — it is part of our national identity. When our badminton players compete on the international stage, the whole country rallies behind them. When Johor DT faces a Thai club in the AFC Champions League, that sense of national pride comes through even when you're watching from your own bedroom. That's why 696 has invested heavily in building a sports portal that truly understands what Malaysian fans want.
Unlike generic international platforms that focus solely on European leagues, 696 gives special attention to local sports. The Malaysia Super League, FA Cup, Malaysia Premier League, and national team matches receive full coverage with live streaming and real-time updated statistics.
Badminton — The Sport Closest to Malaysia's Heart
No sport represents Malaysia on the world stage more than badminton. From the era of Datuk Lee Chong Wei to a new generation of talented young players, badminton has become the defining face of Malaysian sport globally. 696 recognises this and provides the most comprehensive badminton coverage of any online platform in Malaysia.
Every BWF World Tour, Thomas Cup, Uber Cup and Sudirman Cup match featuring Malaysian players is streamed live. Follow set-by-set match stats, player win records and technical analysis with detail typically only available on paid TV broadcasts.
Esports — The New Wave of Malaysian Sports
There's no denying it — esports is the fastest-rising sport among Malaysia's younger generation. Mobile Legends Bang Bang, Dota 2 and Valorant tournaments now draw larger audiences than many traditional sports, particularly among those aged 18 to 35.
696 is among the earliest platforms in Malaysia to recognise this enormous potential and invest in serious esports coverage. Not just live tournament streams, but also team analysis, head-to-head records, individual player statistics, and more esports betting markets than most other platforms. This is a space that keeps growing, and 696 is right at the front.
Formula 1 & MotoGP — The Thrilling Roar of the Engines
Malaysia has a special relationship with motorsport — we hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Sepang Circuit for two decades. That passion still burns among local racing fans even after the Malaysia GP series ended. Through 696, fans can follow every F1 and MotoGP race this season with live streaming and in-depth race analysis.
F1 betting markets at 696 cover race winners, pole position, fastest lap and a range of prop markets that make every race more exciting. With 20+ races per season, there's a betting opportunity nearly every two weeks throughout the year.
Live Streaming & How It Works at 696
